About Eric Gozna
Doctor Eric Gozna is a retired orthopaedic surgeon, professional engineer and medical educator.
From 1978 to 2010, Dr. Gozna was on staff of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB, Canada and for over 15 years was Medical Education Coordinator, responsible for overseeing undergraduate/postgraduate medical education and physician Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs. He was on the teaching faculty of both Memorial University and Dalhousie University Schools of Medicine.
From 1999 to 2010, Dr. Gozna was Senior Medical Consultant to WorkSafe New Brunswick, responsible for developing treatment protocols and education programs for case managers, medical consultants, primary care physicians and allied health professionals on the management of musculoskeletal problems, as well as consultant to the Worker's Rehabilitation Centre, Grand Bay, NB.
Since 1980 he has been Honorary Research Associate and member of the Advisory Board of the Biomedical Engineering Institute of the University of New Brunswick and has two textbooks and more than 40 scientific and clinical publications and presentations to his name. Dr. Gozna's interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics stems from his orthopedic surgery clinical experience, engineering background, and his ongoing affiliation with the Biomedical Engineering Institute.
He has been involved in over 200 family practice, orthopaedic and rehabilitation CME programs in Canada, USA, Great Britain and Australia. His teaching emphasizes systematic and practical approaches to assessment and management of musculoskeletal problems, disability management and rehabilitation.
